The mission of Coastal Learning Center is to offer a
comprehensive educational placement designed to meet the
needs of students with behavioral and multiple disabilities. We
strive to enhance our students’ self-esteem, increase their self-
control and improve their sense of self-responsibility while
providing them with and individualized education. This is
accomplished by providing a structured, yet flexible, therapeutic
environment staffed with caring individuals.
Part of our mission is to prepare students for the future,
whether it is to further their education, seek vocational training,
join the armed services or enter the work force. Through
academics, art, computer technology, sports, horticulture,
music, practical arts our students’ lives are enriched.
A low student to staff ratio allows us to know the students well
and provide them with the opportunity to relate to us easily.
We believe that a positive relationship with a warm, supportive,
firm, consistent, staff can lead to the social and emotional
growth of our special needs students.
