An sample of the flowers that can be seen around our campus!
One of the most visual and growing programs we have at Coastal Learning Center Tuckerton is the
Horticulture Program. The students take part in the maintenance of school grounds, as well as
producing and taking care of our own greenhouse and garden. Led by
Ms. Rosamilia, the horticulture
brings the students out of the classroom and gives them a literal hands-on approach to the world around
them. Each year, our garden becomes the focal point of the program, as various vegetables and flowers
are planted, maintained, and eventually eaten by the school. The greenhouse keeps the growing
education going, as more plants are watered and grown inside, giving us more greenery to put around
and inside the school. Also, the horticulture program gives the students a chance to give back to the
school, as they maintain the other plants and exterior decor of the school, as well as making sure all the
birds are fed in our assorted birdhouses. The horticulture program helps give the students a chance to
participate in our school's beauty, as well as get down & dirty with their education!
The CLC Tuckerton garden is a yearlong project, from preparation, to growth, to in our stomachs!
