The Art Program at CLC Tuckerton involves all the
students in a way that gives them education and creativity
all at once. Our teachers integrate our curriculum into the
art program, bringing the students into a world of colors
and assorted materials to help them put into reality the
things they think of in their heads. Sketching, clay, painting,
abstract art, and drawing are artistic methods that are
taught to the students in order to show them different ways
of creating their own personal artwork. As you can see in
these various pictures, what the students come up with are
both colorful and original, showing us what our students
are capable of.
Mosaic Tile/Mirror Art & Abstract Art show the other
fields of creativity!
This year, our art program integrates the classroom curriculum with art projects that reflect what they have learned. This way, the students can find
creative ways to show what they have learned in the classroom. Check back to this page to see what the teachers & students come up with to show off
their artistic abilities as well as impress us all with their projects!
Mr. Simmler's Class did a collage using different plant
pictures to show the parts of a plant. They also created
paper mache masks like the ones used in ancient Greeks
theater, reflecting themes found in the book
Percy Jackson
& the Lightning Thief
being read in class.
Ms. Mury's Class has been busy making some
projects showing off their lessons & art abilities. In
the hallway you will find a colorful & informative
timeline of the wars America has been involved
with. Also, her class is studying ancient civilizations,
so they have created both pyramids & tile mosaics
to reflect the styles of these early people. Finally,
the students created beaded versions of
themselves to stick to the chalkboard!
Ms. Zarrillo's Class has also been creatively expressing themselves. During
October, they created 3D haunted houses to display. As the seasons changed to
fall, her class found ways to celebrate the seasons, whether it was from colorful
leaf rubbings hanging in the hall, or pictures of turkeys, leaves, and other
autumn images to help dress up the hallway.
Ms. Thomas' Class has impressed us
all with their use of art in the classroom.
The students have used their handprints
to create their own personalized
description. Also, the students used
magazine pages to help them learn how
to sketch a missing part of the picture.
Whatever they do, it's helping the
students be creative & smart!
October was Violence Prevention Month, so the school sponsored a poster contest for the
students. The goal was to make a poster that showed some sort of anti-violence message. As you
can see, the students came up with some great ideas coupled with a message that is very
important to know. One winner from each class was picked for a special prize.
