Coastal Learning Center campuses are now offering the Short Term Educational Placement, or
STEP program, for Special Education students ages 5-21. The program provides educational and
counseling services for students who require a temporary educational placement while
suspended from their home school district.
The Counseling Program covers an array of issues that include anger management, conflict
resolution assertiveness training, substance abuse, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and social
skills. These issues are addressed by trained LCSW and MSW Counselors in individual and
Group Counseling.
Our classrooms are all Self-Contained with a maximum of 12 students. Each class is staffed by a
Certified Teacher with at least one Teacher Aide. Weekly progress reports and phone contact
communicate the student's development to their parent or guardian.
Our goal is to facilitate the student's return to public school.
