The computers at the Morganville campus are networked in order to
provide high speed internet service between the campus's two buildings.
All computers run
Windows XP system and are equipped with
Microsoft Office Professional Suite. All content is filtered via Sonic
Wall, which checks for inappropriate sites, spyware, advertisements,
and viruses.

This year in the Morganville computer lab, students will continue to
implement technology into the academic studies. The computer teacher
typically collaborates with teachers in order to infuse technology into
classroom plans. Technical support is provided by
Paradigm Pioneers.

Currently, Room 3 students are working on typing journals from a lesson
plan implemented by Mr. Hart. This lesson is motivated in part by the
book and film
Freedom Writers, a story of acceptance and a teacher's
use of innovative teaching methods. Room 1 was also engaged in a
theme lesson devoted to
Heroes and students used the lab to type and
produce some of the main hall bulletin board materials. Select students
throughout the building work on
Lexia, our Orton Gillingham based
computer reading program. Students continue to study grammar, writing
skills, vocabulary, and to complete current events and webquests.
Scrabble, Text-Twister, and Flip Words continue to be favored end of
week activities.

Some of the projects we will continue to work on apart from classroom
teacher generated lesson plans will include Student Biographies in
PowerPoint, monthly calendars, and creation of t-shirt transfers, cards,
banners, and bulletin boards. Picture It has become a favorite program
of students allowing them to create a myriad of photos, scrapbooks, and
collages. We look forward to an exciting year of exploration and
discovery. With so many teachers and students  contributing to the
lesson plans, we never know where the technology will lead us.
