Educationally, our Art Program on the Howell Campus enables our students to turn their personal reality into fine
art. Mrs. Aireon Cline-Vreeland instructs our students using colors, materials and equipment, transforming their
abilities into sketches, clay, paintings, abstract art, etc. Under the professional leadership of Mrs. Cline-Vreeland,
children are encouraged to express themselves promoting self confidence with the end results of their work.
Howell Campus students participate in the annual Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival held at Brookdale
Community College. Each year the Monmouth County Teen Arts Council provides teens living in Monmouth
County the opportunity to display visual arts in a two day show that is open to the public.Coastal Learning Center
Howell Campus submits approximately 20 pieces of art to this show including canvas paintings, clay sculptures,
and soap stone carvings. The past two years, several of our pieces have been selected by state judges to be
displayed in the NJ State Teen Arts Show which encompasses top artwork from several counties.
The Howell Campus at Coastal Learning Center provides field trips for the student artists to see their artwork at
Brookdale Community College. This year’s Teen Art’s Festival will be held on March 18th and 19th at the CVA
Building. The opening reception will be held on Monday, March 17th 6-8 pm at the CVA Building.
